Physical Education
Physical Education Curriculum
Physical Education provides children with learning opportunities through the medium of movement and contributes to their overall development by helping them to lead full, active and healthy lives. St. Laurence’s strives to provide access for all children to a broad and balanced Physical Education programme. As per Department of Education and Skills guidelines, all children receive a minimum of 60 minutes of physical education per week.
All classes are taught the following P.E. strands:
Athletics
Games
Dance
Gymnastics
Aquatics
Outdoor and Adventure Activities
We use The Move Well, Move Often programme to complement the teaching of the Physical Education Curriculum. The following skills are developed within the curriculum strands mentioned above:
