Forest Schools

Inaugural Session

After much planning and liaising with Wicklow County Council, St Laurence’s Forest School, under the leadership of Triona Hassett (Forest School Leader), took its first baby steps.

Thursday, 17 September 2020, dawned to a bright morning and, with great excitement, Room 11 pupils headed for the woods at the rear of the school, adjacent to the Black Walk.

Great fun was had, games were played and a little bit of craft-work engaged with, as the children became more acquainted with their outdoor classroom.

More than anything else we GREW in confidence through our connection with nature and learned how to look after ourselves, our classmates and our shared woodland.To explore how Forest School benefits your child please click on this link to download:
