Creative Schools

St.Laurence's is delighted to be a part of the Creative Schools programme, an initiative of the Arts Council in partnership with the Department of Education and Skills. The aim of the project is to enable the creative potential of every child. Over the past 2 years, we have been working closely with our Creative Associate, Rebecca Blake, to understand, develop and celebrate the arts and creativity in St. Laurence’s.

We have been reflecting on the 5 Creative habits of mind:

• Inquisitive

• Imaginative

• Collaborative

• Persistent

• Disciplined.

The voices of the children are at the heart of the project and our Junior and Senior Creative Crews have helped to lead this project. Each class is currently engaging in Drama Workshops as part of the project with two teachers from PlayAct Academy.
