Dear Parents,

Many Parents like to express thanks to teachers by giving a gift at Christmas which is usually very much appreciated by the teachers.

Last year, it was felt due to the economic climate and with many families experiencing difficulties, it was not appropriate and may put pressure on parents who cannot afford it. We feel that again this year, the gesture, whilst very much appreciated, may just be another added pressure to household finances that some parents cannot afford.

Therefpre we would ask that you refrain from giving teachers gifts, and if some parents do wish to make some gesture, may we suggest thay give a donation to a charity of their choice, or to the local St. Vincent De Paul. They are in need of a lot of help this Christmas.
