St Laurence’s Parents' Association


The aims and objectives of Parents' Association of St. Laurence's Primary School are as follows:

  • The Association hopes to help all parents feel they have a part to play in the school and a contribution in helping to make their child's years in the school a positive time in their life.


  • To represent the interests and views of parents of children attending the school.


  • To inform parents of developments in education and in the school.


  • To foster cooperation and promote good relationships between parents and the school board of management, the principal and the teachers.


  • To assist with extra curricular activities and to offer and provide assistance in the classroom with the agreement of the principal and the teaching staff.


  • To help organise children’s leisure activities.


  • To help provide education for parents as required.


  • To help with the provision of extra equipment and teaching aids through fund-raising events.


  • To promote active involvement of parents within the Association.




Membership


All parents / guardians of children attending St. Laurence's are automatically deemed members of the Association. All parents and especially new parents are actively encouraged to join the Committee and to attend meetings.

The Committee is responsible for the running of the Parents' Association and meet approximately 6 times a year. The AGM is usually held in September following the School Board of Management AGM. Notice of meetings will be given on the website and on notices at the school.
